An Island Style Guide to the 4th of July

So, you’ve booked your stay and are geared up and ready to make your way to Port A for the long July 4th weekend. Congratulations! You’ve done the hardest part. Once you get here, you’ll have days to spend lounging on the beach, dining at all of the unique and fabulous Port Aransas restaurants, and generally doing all your favorite island activities. Here are a few more things to add to your Port A escape plans so you can get the full patriotic experience!

The annual Fourth of July fireworks are not to be missed! The fireworks are shot off at Roberts Point Park for a spectacular show over the channel, which will begin around nightfall on Monday evening. There is plenty of space to park your golf cart or car in the park itself, but another great viewing option is from one of the fireworks cruises put on by Red Dragon Pirate Cruises, the Mustang, or Scarlet Lady Dolphin Adventures.

Get dinner and a show when you choose to dine on the decks of any of the marina-facing restaurants, like FINS Grill & Icehouse, Trout Street Bar & Grill, Virginia's on the Bay, and Grumbles Seafood Co! Not only will you get a great view of the fireworks, but a delicious meal to boot.

An Outfit Fit for the Fourth

Don't forget that you'll need the perfect outfit and accessories to showcase your red, white, and blue all weekend long. No matter your plans, island boutiques are sure to have the patriotic garb that suits you! Some of those options (including where you can snag them for yourself!) are featured below. From Port A koozies to sparkly earrings and even an American flag cardigan, this is how you do July 4, island style.
