Mother's Day Itinerary
Start the Day Right
A Walk on the Beach
Start by taking the mom in your life on a relaxing walk down the gorgeous Port Aransas beach. Watch the sunrise over the island as you hunt for shells and spend a quiet morning together. Stop on your way to the beach and pick up a coffee from Coffee Waves to kick-start your day. After working up an appetite from exploring the sandy shores of the Texas coast, it's time for some food.
Mother's Day Brunch
Sunday is a day dedicated to brunch, and Port Aransas has some of the best brunch spots around. Make your way to Tortuga's Saltwater Grill and indulge in their brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Start with a pineapple mimosa and toast to motherhood! Order one of the delicious main dishes on their menu. Perhaps the Tuga-style French toast with house caramel, spiced Mexican chocolate, and candied pecans, topped with whipped cream? On the more savory side, you can try their Port A Benny's, a house biscuit and crab cake, with avocado, diced tomato, topped with over-easy eggs and hollandaise sauce, served with a side of breakfast potatoes. You will leave brunch happy and full.
The Perfect Afternoon
Shopping
Spend the afternoon exploring the town of Port Aransas. With amazing local shopping, you can enjoy hopping from shop to shop finding unique items you won't find anywhere else. If you are looking for eclectic foods and trinkets, Saltwater Gypsies is the perfect place to take your mother. This store offers a selection of unique foods and spices. You'll find cheese from different parts of the world or a new seasoning for your next dinner. Saltwater Gypsies also has handmade fashion and accessories, not to mention gold and silver permanent jewelry.
For the chic mama in your life, Coastal Closet is a must! With high-end clothing and jewelry, this shop will have you hooked. Find everything you need for a new outfit to wear to dinner and continue celebrating Mother's Day.
Lunch
Take a break from shopping and grab a delicious lunch at 1886 At Roosevelt's At The Tarpon Inn. Sip on an espresso martini as you indulge in a delicious meal of balsamic glazed salmon with sautéed vegetables and wild rice. In the mood for something lighter? Try the soup and salad combo with your choice of soup or salad and half of one of their famous sandwiches.
Relaxation
End the afternoon with a well-deserved massage at the Balinese Spa & Boutique. Their Swedish massage increases the level of oxygen in the blood, decreases muscle toxins, improves circulation, and flexibility, and eases tension. You may want to try the Balinese Signature massage that begins with a nice salt scrub exfoliation and then wraps you in a dead sea mud masque. A rain shower will rinse off all the salt and mud and finish with a Swedish, deep, or hot stone massage.

Unwind on Island Time
After a day of fun celebrating the mom in your life, it's time to unwind and spend a relaxing evening enjoying each other's company. Have a delightful dinner with fine coastal cuisine in a relaxed casual atmosphere at Lisabella’s. The crab cakes and warm goat cheese with figs are perfect starters to your meal. The mermaid soup is a house specialty that will have your taste buds begging for more of this luscious lobster coconut broth with shrimp, curry, and secret spices. The salads are fresh and delicious, while the seafood entrees—crab cakes, sea scallops, red snapper belle meuniere, and jumbo Gulf shrimp do not disappoint.
Black Marlin Bar & Grill is another option for Port A dining at its best. From fresh fish to thick steaks, this restaurant is ready to take you on a culinary flavor adventure. Signature entrees include the award-winning version of shrimp and grits made with cheesy, creamy stone ground grits, creole cream sauce, smoked habanero cheddar cheese, corn, and andouille sausage. Order the signature tacos with your choice of mahi, shrimp, or tuna, prepared grilled, fried, or blackened, and topped with shredded cabbage, chipotle aioli, mango pico de gallo, pickled onions, and jicama slaw. Land lovers can’t go wrong with a thick juicy burger and fries or the Prime Texas Wagyu Strip Steak.
If you are looking for one final activity, wind down on a leisurely sunset cruise. The Fisherman's Wharf captain and crew make sure you get the best view in the area of the sun bidding you farewell. Relax as you get to appreciate the natural beauty and experience the best Port A has to offer.
