Kathy Blackwell

Kathy Blackwell is an executive editor at Texas Monthly who oversees the magazine's culture and lifestyle coverage as well as service journalism packages, including the 2023 National Magazine Award finalist “Springs Eternal.” Before joining the magazine in 2017, she previously worked at newspapers including The Austin American-Statesman and The Orlando Sentinel and served as editor in chief of Austin Way magazine. Originally from South Carolina, she moved to Texas in 2000 and is the proud mother of a native Texan.
