Jace Tunnell

Director of Community Engagement, Harte Research Institute

Jace Tunnell is the director of community engagement at the Harte Research Institute for Gulf of Mexico Studies at Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. His conservation efforts include educating the public about plastic pollution, marine science, and protection of our natural resources. Jace received a Master’s degree in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi in 2001.

 

Talk: Beachcombing the Gulf of Mexico

Jace surveys the beach for plastic pellets called nurdles and produces a video series to educate people about what is washing up on the beach along the Gulf of Mexico. This presentation will dive into some of the interesting stories of items found during his years of beach surveys.
