Accessibility at Texas SandFest

Texas SandFest is fun for all!

Accessible Parking

Accessible parking for vehicles with a current, valid state-issued accessible vehicle placard or accessible license plate is available on the beach inside the bollards at Marker 12.5, near the North entrance of SandFest. Space is limited and parking is on a first-come, first-served basis. Spots may not be held or reserved.

Drop-Off Point

An elderly and disabled drop-off point has been added at the North gate near marker 12.

Accessible Toilets

Accessible portable toilets are available throughout the event grounds.

Guest-Owned Wheelchairs & Motorized Scooters

Motorized accessibility scooters and wheelchairs are allowed at SandFest. However, please be aware that the vast majority of these will not work in the sand. We highly advise reserving a beach wheelchair. Information can be found in the next section.

Beach Wheelchairs

A limited number of beach wheelchairs are available for use. You may use them for 1 hour, 45 minutes. It is highly recommended that you reserve a date/time using the form below. Guests who do not reserve a beach wheelchair may stop by the Guest Relations Tent located at the north gate entrance of SandFest near beach marker 9.5 to see if any beach wheelchairs are available. Those with confirmed reservations are the only ones guaranteed the use of a beach wheelchair. Due to the limited number of available beach wheelchairs, only one reservation for the entire event per person is permitted. Those who choose to circumvent the reservation system will have their reservation(s) canceled.

Please note the following: Reserved wheelchairs can be picked up at the Guest Relations Tent located at the north gate entrance near beach marker 9.5. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your reserved time. The following will be required when picking up the beach wheelchair:

  1. A $20 cash deposit, which will be refunded when the beach wheelchair is returned on time and with no damage.
  2. A current driver's license from someone in your group, which will be held as collateral and returned once the beach wheelchair is dropped off.
  3. Complete and sign a beach wheelchair usage agreement.

Please note, if you are LATE picking up your beach wheelchair your time with the wheelchair will NOT be extended.
