We are so grateful for your interest in becoming a volunteer for Texas SandFest! Our success would not be possible without the time and support of our volunteers.

General Volunteer Information

  • The minimum age to volunteer for all positions is 14.
  • This event is OUTSIDE, and almost all jobs will be in the sun and elements, including but not limited to heat, wind, and rain.
  • The majority of jobs require standing and/or walking for most of the shift.
  • Most shifts are approximately 5.5 hours.
  • Some jobs have a minimum age requirement and/or require a valid driver's license.

Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions

General
  • No.

  • Due to the size and logistics, we do not allow sign ups after the online registration closes. 

  • About ten days before the event, which will be around April 9, 2024.

  • Yes, if we have availability. You must have already completed your first shift.

  • No.

  • No more than 30 minutes before your scheduled start time.

  • No, the earliest you can pick it up is 30 minutes before your first scheduled shift.

  • Only service animals are allowed while volunteering.

  • 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

  • Yes, we have a limited number of shirts/sizes available. They are $10 each, cash and exact change only. Please see Rhonie in the Volunteer Welcome office.

  • Only registered volunteers with wristbands as well as associate and board members. 

  • Yes, you will get a shirt as long as you signed in when you volunteered. You may pick up your shirt at the Volunteer Welcome tent once SandFest opens. No food vouchers are provided for volunteers during set up. 

  • Please send an email to volunteer@texassandfest.org as soon as you know you will not be able to work. 

  • No, and that includes other registered volunteers.

  • No, only authorized golf carts are allowed to be used inside and/or for SandFest.

  • There is a marked Vendor/Volunteer parking lot located at the north end of SandFest. This parking lot may only be used on the day or days you volunteer. Parking is free but you must have a valid beach parking permit.

  • Please see a team leader or associate member.

  • Yes, there will be a changing booth. 

Wristbands
  • No, your wristband is only good for the day you volunteer.  If you are volunteering in the afternoon/evening, you may pick your wristband up AFTER 8 a.m. on the day you volunteer. The wristband may be picked up at Volunteer Welcome.

  • No, the earliest you can pick it up is 30 minutes before your first scheduled shift.

  • You can only get a replacement wristband if you have the original wristband with you. Lost wristbands will not be replaced.

  • No.

  • Yes, you will get a shirt as long as you signed in when you volunteered. You may pick up your shirt at the Volunteer Welcome tent once SandFest opens. No food vouchers are provided for volunteers during set up. 

Food Vouchers
  • No, it is good all weekend (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the volunteer care tent food truck. 

  • No.

  • No, the earliest you can pick it up is 30 minutes before your first scheduled shift.

  • 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

  • Yes.

  • Only if they have a volunteer wristband and a volunteer food voucher. 

  • No.

  • Yes, they are $15 each, cash only and exact change. Please remember only people with volunteer wristbands may use the food vouchers. Please see Rhonie in the Volunteer Welcome office. 

  • Yes, you will get a shirt as long as you signed in when you volunteered. You may pick up your shirt at the Volunteer Welcome tent once SandFest opens. No food vouchers are provided for volunteers during set up.
