The Holidays Just Got Hotter in Port Aransas

Port Aransas, Texas, November 10, 2025 – For the 2025 holiday season, the Port Aransas Tourism Bureau & Chamber of Commerce introduces Santa Soirée, an all-encompassing event full of holiday magic. Taking place on Saturday, December 13th, Santa Soirée brings together three beloved Port Aransas traditions and one brand-new experience for visitors and locals alike. Traditions have always anchored in Port Aransas, and this year, those traditions grow with the swell of the waves to create a merry celebration of holiday spirit and community ties.

Highest Destination Management Certification Earned by Port Aransas Tourism Bureau CEO

Port Aransas, Texas, July 7, 2025 – Brett Stawar, President and CEO of the Port Aransas Tourism Bureau & Chamber of Commerce, has earned the Certified Destination Management Executive (CDME) designation, the only certification program specifically designed for the destination management industry. The program emphasizes vision, leadership, productivity, and the implementation of business strategies.

Port Aransas Tourism Bureau Marketing Director Earns CTE

Port Aransas, Texas, June 24, 2025 – Melinda Compton, current Marketing & Communications Director for the Port Aransas Tourism Bureau & Chamber of Commerce, recently completed her final capstone for Travel & Tourism College, earning the Certified Tourism Executive (CTE) title. This certification encompasses the tourism and travel industry, with a focus on key areas such as destination stewardship, tourism development, visitor engagement, and travel marketing. 

Port Aransas Officially Named Fishing Capital of Texas

Port Aransas, Texas, June 4, 2025 – Port Aransas, Texas is excited to announce its official designation as the Fishing Capital of Texas. Governor Greg Abbott signed HRC 117 into law, electing the robust fishing city as Texas’ premier fishing location and solidifying its reputation as a top-tier community for anglers seeking an unforgettable experience.

New Public Relations & Communications Manager Hired for Port Aransas Tourism Bureau

Port Aransas, Texas, May 29, 2025 – May 19th marked the starting day for the newest hire at the Port Aransas Tourism Bureau. Faith Thompson, a St. Louis, Missouri native, jumped into the role of Public Relations and Communications Manager for the team.
