Keep Port Aransas Beautiful (KPAB)

Keep on Keeping Port Aransas Beautiful

The initial attractor to Port Aransas, for both locals and visitors, is the natural beauty of the area. The sandy coastal dunes, the crashing waves, the wildlife of both land and sea–it’s difficult to imagine anything better. Preserving that natural beauty, however, requires that the people who enjoy the environment also become its stewards.

Keep Port Aransas Beautiful (KPAB), a Gold Star affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful, is one such vehicle for that stewardship. The goal of the volunteer-based organization is to encourage and promote behaviors such as reducing litter, recycling, using native plants, and beautification of streets and public spaces. KPAB also works diligently to educate the community on protecting natural resources for sustainability.

KPAB hosts such events as beach clean-ups, “Dump your Junk” recycling days, and native plant giveaways, and is always looking for members and volunteers to join them in their efforts.
