    Supports the Welcome Center operations, fulfilling visitor inquiries and providing support for the Tourism Bureau/Chamber Staff and the various tourism projects ongoing at the Center.  The Welcome Center Assistant works with the objectives of a) Serving visitor inquiries in the region; b) maintaining the welcome center operations (cleanliness; organization); and c) supporting special project needs for hospitality partners and/or staff.

  • JOB DESCRIPTION: The Stewardship Branding Manager works collaboratively to advance opportunities that seek to find harmony between quality of life for residents, and a strong visitor economy while protecting our cultural and natural resources. The position will create, design, and produce print communications, digital promotions, website graphics, video, and photography, and other promotional materials while ensuring the consistency of the Bureau’s brands. This position will monitor and report the results of all initiatives.

    Responsibilities:

    STEWARDSHIP

    • Implement the organization’s destination stewardship strategy
      • Consult members/stakeholders on challenges, priorities, and solutions to take forward in planning and implementation
      • Identify collaboration partners and lead coordination of those relationships to implement destination stewardship initiatives in the region (including the municipality, NGOs, resident groups, chamber members, etc.)
    • Lead stakeholder engagement activities including member outreach, workshops, community meetings, etc.
    • Lead research initiatives such as: resident, business and visitor surveys to understand satisfaction, impacts, priorities, etc., through a stewardship lens.
    • Research and stay up to date on global best practice examples of destination stewardship in marine and coastal and domestic tourism destinations.
    • Participate in global DMO exchange groups and online communities & events such as the Future of Tourism Coalition’s community for signatories and the Travel Foundation’s DMO Exchange (for example, by invite from TF).
    • Directly support the build out of the ‘Respect Our Island Home’ campaign. Collaborate with Port Aransas team on integration of destination stewardship principles and activities into marketing, sales, and other organizational functions.

    BRANDING

    • Ensure all materials and creative developed uphold the Bureau’s brand standards.
    • Coordinate all pre-production work and prepare appropriate files/materials for printers/vendors.
    • Develop and produce corporate presentations using appropriate audio-visual materials, including PowerPoint and Adobe Premier.
    • Maintain organized files for Bureau’s photo and graphic library.
    • Provide photography acquisition support, recommend photo requirements, seek out sources of photos, and take photos for Bureau’s use.
    • Support Bureau’s websites, maintaining pieces of the CMS and CRM to ensure accurate and timely updates to website content. 
    • Support email newsletter production and implementation with team members. 
    • Performs other related duties as requested

    Measurements:

    • Development and success of the stewardship programs.
    • Deliver excellent brand graphic communications on time and on budget for all projects.
    • Timeliness and accuracy of work product, including website updates.
    • Comprehension of the travel industry on all levels–local, state, national, and international.
    • Awareness of the local travel industry partners and changes therein.
    • Attendance and interpersonal engagement in Bureau related events and activities.
