So grab your green gear and celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the Port A way.
Emerald Waves on the Texas Coast

One of the most beautiful greens in Port Aransas is the Gulf itself. On the right day, the water glows with stunning shades of emerald and turquoise that would make any leprechaun jealous.
Spend your St. Patrick’s Day strolling the shoreline, beachcombing for seashells, or just relaxing with your toes in the sand. Whether you’re flying a kite, building sandcastles with the family, or watching the sunrise over the water, the beach is the perfect place to soak up some of everyone's favorite natural greens.
Beach
In Port A, it’s all about fun in the sun and sand! The beaches of Mustang Island are fantastically unique. There are 18 miles of uninterrupted public shoreline, open for street legal vehicles and all things beach!
Lucky to See Sea Turtles
Another special kind of green found along the Texas coast comes from one of Port A’s most beloved marine residents, the Kemp’s ridley sea turtle. These incredible creatures are the smallest and most endangered sea turtles in the world, and the waters near Port Aransas play an important role in their survival. One of the best places to spot sea turtles in the wild is along the Port Aransas jetties. As you watch the waves and boats pass through the channel, keep an eye on the water; sea turtles are sometimes seen popping up for air or swimming along the rocks. It’s a peaceful place to take in the Gulf views and maybe even get a lucky wildlife sighting.

The Amos Rehabilitation Keep (ARK) at the University of Texas Marine Science Institute helps rescue and rehabilitate injured sea turtles before returning them to the Gulf. Visitors sometimes get the chance to see these amazing turtles up close and learn about the conservation efforts helping protect them.
Spotting one of these sea turtles in the wild, or learning about the work being done to save them, is definitely a lucky experience while visiting Port A.
Hit the Greens at Palmilla Beach Golf
If your St. Patrick’s Day plans include a little friendly competition, head over to Palmilla Beach Golf Club, the only true links-style golf course in Texas.

Designed to embrace the natural coastal landscape, this scenic course features rolling fairways, coastal dunes, and Gulf breezes that make every round a little different. The links-style layout means the wind becomes part of the game, adding just the right amount of challenge for both seasoned golfers and those simply looking to enjoy a relaxing day on the course.
Wear your green, channel your inner luck of the Irish, and see if you can land a lucky shot on the greens.
