In the “Fishing Capital of Texas,” there are endless ways to hone your craft as an angler, like chartering a boat with a fishing guide for a deep-sea trip. If you want to take the next step, challenge yourself by signing up to participate in your first-ever tournament, like the long-historied Deep Sea Roundup!

Get Outside

If your aim is to get some extra sunshine in the new year, you’ve come to the right place. The Port Aransas Nature Preserve consists of four sites—the Leonabelle Turnbull Birding Center, Charlie’s Pasture, Wetland Park, and Joan and Scott Holt Paradise Pond. These sites are home to the fantastic native flora and fauna of the Texas Gulf Coast, and Charlie’s Pasture’s newly-opened South Trail is an ideal walk to take in the sights.

Find a New Hobby

If you’ve ever attended Texas SandFest, you know that the sand on Port Aransas beaches has been the medium for many breathtaking works of art. But did you know that you can learn how to create your own art from those beachy grains? Port Aransas Sandcastle Guy Mark Landrum has been carving for over 20 years and is happy to teach his ways with a sandcastle-building lesson of your own!
