Texas SandFest

Texas SandFest is more than just one of the nation’s most beloved sand sculpture events, it’s a dedicated 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission rooted in giving back to the Port Aransas community. Each year, this internationally celebrated festival raises significant funds that support local charities and provide educational opportunities for students, empowering the next generation through scholarships and grants. In 2025 alone, Texas SandFest contributed more than $460,000 to the community, including over $274,000 in scholarships for local students and nearly $190,000 distributed to community-driven initiatives and charitable organizations. Since 2012, the total impact of these contributions has surpassed $3.3 million, benefiting a wide range of local causes and organizations that enhance life in Port Aransas. Through artistic celebration, community engagement, and meaningful philanthropy, Texas SandFest continues to make a lasting positive impact on the island and beyond.

The Port Aransas Garden Club

The Port Aransas Garden Club is a long-standing 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to enhancing the beauty and quality of life in Port Aransas through community-minded service and environmental stewardship. Since its founding in 1964, the Garden Club has promoted gardening, landscaping, and litter control that contribute to the aesthetic charm of our city and its public spaces. Fundraising events like the annual Home Tour and Style Show generate resources that support a variety of local initiatives, including scholarships for deserving Port Aransas Independent School District seniors, contributions to community organizations, and support for food-insecurity efforts. The club also partners with schools and city projects to create and maintain gardens and green spaces, such as at local elementary schools and the Leona Belle Turnbull Birding Center, helping students and residents connect with nature. Through these efforts, the Port Aransas Garden Club not only cultivates beautiful spaces but also fosters community pride, education, and collaboration.

Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church

Trinity by the Sea Episcopal Church is a welcoming faith-based nonprofit in the heart of Port Aransas that goes beyond worship to serve the broader community with compassion and connection. As a spiritual and charitable resource, the congregation offers regular services, Bible studies, and fellowship opportunities that bring residents and visitors together in meaningful ways. The church supports vital outreach efforts such as the Helping Hands Food Pantry, which provides emergency food assistance to local families and children in need, and partners with community programs that foster care, support, and inclusion. Trinity also hosts community events like beach worship services and social activities that strengthen our community’s sense of belonging and shared purpose. Keep Port Aransas Beautiful

Keep Port Aransas Beautiful (KPAB) is a dedicated volunteer-led nonprofit committed to preserving the natural charm and cleanliness that make Port Aransas such a special place to live and visit. As a Gold Star affiliate of Keep Texas Beautiful and Keep America Beautiful, KPAB promotes environmental stewardship by encouraging recycling, reducing litter, and beautifying streets and public spaces through community education and action. The organization hosts regular beach cleanups, Adopt-a-Beach and Adopt-a-Highway events, and recycling initiatives that directly improve the appearance and health of our coastline and neighborhoods. KPAB also supports local beautification through native plant projects, landscaping efforts, and even micro-grants that empower residents and businesses to lead their own improvement projects. Additionally, the group provides scholarships to students who have volunteered and contributed to its mission, helping cultivate future environmental leaders. Through these efforts, Keep Port Aransas Beautiful strengthens community pride, protects local ecosystems, and ensures Port A remains a vibrant and welcoming destination for all.

Port Aransas Boatmen, Inc

Port Aransas Boatmen, Inc. is a long-standing nonprofit organization made up of local charter boat owners and operators dedicated to serving the Port Aransas community through education, conservation, and community support. Founded in 1932, the Boatmen work year-round to promote boating safety, good sportsmanship, and conservation of natural resources, and values that support both the local fishing industry and the health of our coastal environment. The organization is perhaps best known for sponsoring the annual Deep Sea Roundup, the oldest fishing tournament on the Texas Gulf Coast, which not only celebrates Port A’s rich fishing heritage but also brings visitors and economic activity to the island. Port Aransas Boatmen also provides scholarships and youth-focused support, helping local students further their education and pursue careers connected to the sea and beyond. Through these efforts and ongoing community involvement, the Boatmen help preserve Port Aransas’s maritime traditions while giving back to the people who call this coastal town home.
