The Backstory

In 2015, the idea of Vida Caña came to its founders Bryan and Stephanie. The couple was out having a surf session, or as as they liked to call them, "board meetings." Their days were filled with surfing, sunshine, and catching glimpses of sea turtles in the waves. These laid-back, enjoyable moments pushed them out of the day-to-day hustle and bustle of the corporate world and forced them to slow down and enjoy the days. This experience reminded them of how the rum they drank did the same thing, and Vida Caña was born. They wanted to create a rum that embodied the communal spirit and festive vibe, the ties to beach and island cultures, and the instant smiles. They worked to create the perfect flavor that bottled their favorite feelings so they could share them with the world. Whether you live on the beach or in the big city, Vida Caña can bring you that vacation feeling wherever you are!

The Vida Caña Mission

Vida Caña works to benefit sustainability efforts in the Coastal Bend and beyond. In Port Aransas, Vida Caña works with the Amos Rehabilitation Keep, an organization dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of sick and injured birds, sea turtles, terrestrial turtles, and tortoises found along the South Texas coast. For every bottle of Vida Caña sold, they donate $1 to nonprofit organizations that support environmental education and wildlife rehabilitation. Each sip of Vida Caña you drink gives back to conservation, restoration, and protection. 

Vida Caña Rum Bottle Exchange Program

Reduce, Reuse, Repurpose

When you finish a bottle of Vida Caña Rum you can bring the empty container to the Port Aransas Welcome Center. Here you will be able to exchange the bottle for a glass made out of a repurposed rum bottle. You won't be able to get these glasses anywhere but through the exchange program. Help us to reduce, reuse, and repurpose!
